We are seeking a detail-oriented Renewal Underwriter to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in the servicing and ongoing management of difficult to place risks/exposures and special insurance situations all the while ensuring compliance with company policies and governmental regulations. The daily activity consists of servicing, rating, and binding policies within approved guidelines and authority level.

Responsibilities
· Prioritize and manage deadlines effectively.
· Maintain a comprehensive understanding of commercial carriers and market trends.
· Assist in gathering pertinent information from brokers.
· Collect and review data to make informed underwriting decisions.
· Review and provide a competitive quote that will sell on all renewals.
· Make recommendations to supervising Underwriter on risks beyond authority level.
· Address underwriting issues proactively during the policy issuance process.
· Provide support as needed on other underwriting tasks.
· Ensure accuracy of accounts within the CRM system.
· Track and complete tasks within the CRM to enhance workflow.
· Adhere to commercial processing procedures in all responsibilities.
· Foster collaboration with other departments to achieve common goals.
Requirements
Required Experience
· 3-5 years in commercial lines underwriting experience (excess and surplus lines required)
· Existing property and casualty insurance license preferred
Required Skills
· Proficient computer skills.
· Strong verbal & written communication skills.
· Strong organizational skills.
· Technical competence.
· High school diploma.
· A college degree is desired but is not mandatory.
· Ability to make decisions.
· Critical thinking.
· Quick learner.

· Loves working with others in a dynamic team environment.
Time Zone:
- This position is for a team on the west coast, so starting hours will be 9am to 6pm PST for at least the first three (3) months. We can be flexible with working hours depending on your ability to process time sensitive documents throughout the day.
