OSP Drafter

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Drafter to join our Engineering Department as a Subject Matter Expert (SME).

This role focuses on refining our drafting processes, providing training, and ensuring our team adheres to industry standards. While this position does not involve active drafting, the ideal candidate will bring a strong background in AutoCAD and a passion for process improvement and knowledge sharing.

Responsibilities:

• Update Drafting Standards: Evaluate and revise current drafting standards to align with industry best practices and company objectives;
• Training and Support: Provide comprehensive training to Offshore teams, ensuring consistent understanding and application of updated standards;
• Quality Assurance: Review and validate draft deliverables to ensure compliance with established standards and accuracy in design;
• Process Optimization: Identify areas for improvement within drafting workflows and recommend efficient solutions;
• Technical Expertise: Serve as the primary resource for AutoCAD-related inquiries, offering guidance to team members on advanced features and troubleshooting;
• Documentation: Develop and maintain detailed documentation for drafting procedures and standards to support training and consistency across the team;
• Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, project managers, and offshore teams to support drafting needs and ensure alignment with project goals. 

Requirements

• Extensive knowledge of drafting for the telecommunications, construction, or utility industries;
• Strong training and mentoring skills;
• Proven ability to update and maintain drafting standards;
• Excellent communication and documentation skills;
• Attention to detail and a commitment to quality and precision;
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment;
• Knowledge of other design software is a plus.
