Full Job Description
Symmetrio is actively recruiting for a Field Service Engineer for its client, a leading global medical device company specializing in innovative aesthetic technologies. This role involves servicing a range of advanced medical technologies, including laser and energy-based devices, across multiple locations in the Louisiana region. The ideal candidate will have a strong electronics background, field service experience, and excellent customer service skills.
This position is based in the Louisiana region or Southern California region, with an expected travel commitment of 70-80%. A company vehicle will be provided, and relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.
Responsibilities
- Provide professional, prompt, and skilled technical support to customers.
- Ensure optimal system performance and train customers on equipment operation and maintenance.
- Document service activities in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with the service dispatch team and other Field Service Engineers to manage schedules effectively.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with electronic, optical, and mechanical components.
- Work closely with sales teams to identify opportunities for upgrades, new purchases, and service contracts.
- Act as a company liaison for customer care and technical matters.
- Maintain timely submission of reports, RMAs, and expense claims.
- Travel approximately 80% of the time, including overnight stays, to support customers.
Requirements
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Laser Technology, or related field; equivalent military experience also considered.
- 4+ years of experience in electronic system troubleshooting; laser experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of optics, electronics, and mechanical principles.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to travel extensively on short notice and coordinate flights/rentals as needed.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
Desired Skills and Knowledge
- Ability to handle difficult customer situations while troubleshooting
- Experience as primary support for specific machine accounts
- Experience with Human Capital Management (HCM) or equivalent ERP systems
