Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced In-House Legal Counsel, Contracts Specialist to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in contract law and bring expertise in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts across various business areas. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering timely and accurate legal advice to support organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts, including vendor agreements, service contracts, non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), and other legal documents.
- Provide legal counsel and guidance to internal stakeholders on contractual risks, obligations, and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, finance, and operations, to ensure alignment with organizational policies.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of contract templates, playbooks, and standard operating procedures.
- Monitor changes in relevant laws and regulations to ensure compliance and mitigate legal risks.
- Manage contract lifecycle, including renewals, amendments, and terminations.
- Handle disputes or issues arising from contractual agreements, working to resolve matters efficiently.
Requirements
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the Bar in Texas, in good standing.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in contract law, preferably in an in-house legal environment or a corporate setting.
- Proven ability to manage a high volume of contracts with varying levels of complexity.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in contract management software is a plus.
