Role Summary

As the first formal CFO at Piping Technology, you will be instrumental in building a forward-looking finance function that drives profitability, operational efficiency, and long-term growth. This is a hands-on, high-impact leadership role at an industrial manufacturer where you’ll report to the CEO, partner with senior leaders, oversee major system upgrades, and guide the financial discipline needed to scale responsibly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the transition from QuickBooks Desktop to a modern ERP system (e.g., NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics) and manage the implementation.
  • Develop and implement a robust job costing system tailored to a manufacturing job shop environment.
  • Establish a budgeting process for 2026; instill a company-wide budgeting mindset.
  • Restructure the P&L and balance sheet; assign financial accountability to leaders across the organization.
  • Partner with the VP of Manufacturing to align financial planning with operational goals and improve cost management.
  • Provide leadership to a 20-person accounting team; optimize collections, AP/AR, and monthly closings.
  • Participate actively in the senior leadership team, representing the financial perspective in decision-making.
  • Act as a change agent, modernizing financial processes, systems, and culture to support growth.
  • Organize and manage financial operations across multiple company entities.
  • Contribute to the long-term growth strategy, including potential future M&A initiatives.

Requirements

Ideal Candidate

  • Proven experience as a financial leader in manufacturing, job shops, or a similar industry.
  • Expertise with ERP systems like NetSuite or Microsoft Dynamics and leading major system implementations.
  • Strong leadership and change management skills; comfortable modernizing legacy systems and processes.
  • Experience organizing financial operations in a multi-company environment.
  • Highly collaborative and aligned with our values: running toward hard problems, collaborating under pressure, being fighters, loving process without bureaucracy, and loving where you work.
  • Values long-term strategic growth and thrives in a privately-owned environment focused on stability, sustainability, and enduring success.
  • 10+ years experience in accounting and finance ideally in an industrial manufacturing environment.

This is an on-site role located at our corporate headquarters, 3701 Holmes Road, Houston, TX 77051. Please ensure we are within a commutable distance before applying.
