Aspire Medical Staffing is in search of a PRN Audiology Technician to provide services at Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center on Ft. Cavazos Army Base (formerly Ft. Hood) .
Location:
69004 T.J. Mills Blvd, Fort Hood, TX 76544
Schedule:
- Monday-Friday; 6:30am-3:30pm
- May be scheduled to work Overtime (OT). OT hours are worked in excess of 40 hours per work week
Compensation:
- Base pay: $25.00/hour
- Health and welfare: $4.57/hour
- Total compensation: $29.57/hour
Qualifications:
- Must be a US citizen
- Education: Certificate in Audiology
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS): Must be through the American Heart Association.
- Board Certification: None Required
- Licensure/Registration: None Required
- Experience: Maintain certification through the Council for Accreditation of Hearing Conservationists (CAOHC). Audiology Technicians who received their initial training from the Center for Health Promotion and Preventive Medicine (CHPPM) may present evidence of this training in lieu of CAOHC certification.
Duties:
- The duties for the HCW are as follows: Screen medical records to determine appropriate type of testing,
- Ensure proper completion of demographic form, and log appropriate information on log sheet. Perform ear otoscopy, properly fit pre-formed hearing protection and instruct patient on proper insertion and maintenance.
- Perform appropriate pre-briefing instructions to patients on the test they will be taking.
- Provide hearing testing using the Department of Defense Occupational and Environmental Hearing Registry System (DOEHRS) and be able to determine if valid test is obtained.
- Counsel patient on their test results in order to determine further disposition (i.e., return for follow-up, referral to audiologist).
- Appropriately log the outcome of the test and determine the ADS library for that patient and annotate on the log sheet.
- Perform adjunct Composite Health Care System (CHCS) duties during peak periods, or in absence of medical clerk. This may include booking of follow-up or full-evaluation patients, check-in or walk-in of patients seen, ADS completion using User Defined Libraries.
- Perform data collection manually upon completion of the testing process onto a pre-printed spreadsheet for reporting on test results to commanders for unit testing.
