Plasma Table Operator - 2nd shift

About the Role:

We are currently seeking a Plasma Table Operator for our 2nd shift team. In this position, you will be responsible for cutting materials to meet customer requirements/specification which are supplied to operator through internal work copies.

Responsibilities:

• Set-up and operate all burning equipment you are assigned.
• Retrieve and replace inventory (raw materials) as required, protecting the inventory integrity of the inventory management system, including cycle counts.
• Work through supervisor to maintain proper inventory levels.
• Work through supervisor to make necessary drawing and/or routing changes as necessary.
• Perform necessary cleaning operations on materials as required.
• Retrieve and deliver raw material items as required using forklifts and cranes when necessary.
• May need to operate power equipment such as forklifts.
• Operate overhead cranes and clamping devices.
• Notifies supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Maintain clean and safe work area.
• Complete tasks timely and efficiently in accordance with expectations as directed by supervisor.
• Able to operate tools including but not limited to, hand tools, manual machine tools, torch, drill press, etc.
• Ability to learn Eriez labor and work order collection system.
• Notify supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Previous experience as a Plasma Table Operator or in a similar manufacturing environment is a plus.
• Ability to use measuring tools to verify accuracy of cut materials.
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, routings and picklist.
• Visually identify hot rolled, cold rolled, stainless steel, mild steel and other materials.
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and use basic shop math including decimals, fractions, and geometry, with some knowledge of flat layout and Sheetmetal fabrication.
• Some familiarity with Engineering and associated software.

Hourly pay (starting from): $19.19/hr. (Commensurate with Experience)
