Full Job Description
CDR Maguire Inc., a national multi-disciplinary engineering firm, is seeking a qualified Highway Design Engineer with 0-5 years of experience for our Warrendale (Pittsburgh), PA office. This role will be responsible for performing a variety of design and plan preparation functions with limited supervision and guidance, including engineering computations, cost estimates, checking, report writing, etc.

Essential Functions
- Perform highway engineering design functions including preliminary and final design under supervision, review or checking of designs, engineering computations, specifications, cost estimates, and report writing, etc.
- Conduct and/or assist in visits to project sites, project status meetings, and public meetings.
- Assist in developing skills and knowledge of coworkers.
- Assist with development of proposals, letters of interest, supplements, etc.
- Provide support to other regional offices as needed.
- Keep up-to-date with new design technology, construction equipment, and bridge design/construction advancements.
Requirements
- B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- 0-5 years of progressively responsible highway design related experience.
- EIT certificate.
- Prior experience with PennDOT, and softwares, such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D, preferred.
- Knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal statutes and guidelines with respect to field.
- Ability to communicate effectively with ownership, management, coworkers, customers, vendors, contractors, partners, and other stakeholders in a professional manner.
- Ability to perform complex highway design tasks independently.
- Ability to provide guidance to other members of the highway project team.
