Entry Level Building Engineer

In this role, you will participate in various inspection, design, and engineering projects that include both fieldwork and office tasks. You’ll have the opportunity to work closely with experienced professionals and learn about a range of engineering practices in a supportive environment.

Your contributions will support our efforts in helping clients assess and improve their property’s, providing essential insights and solutions.

Responsibilities

• Assist in performing analysis and design of structural and building systems using engineering software and manual calculations.
• Contribute to the development of construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates for projects.
• Support site visits and inspections to assess conditions and recommend necessary repairs or improvements.
• Prepare reports.
• Prepare cost estimates.
• Work with clients directly on projects.
• Help in preparing technical reports and documentation to present engineering solutions to clients.
• Stay informed about industry codes, standards, and regulations to maintain compliance in all projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's of Science degree in Engineering or a related field.
• Engineering Intern (E.I.) license in Ohio is preferred or in pursuit of obtaining it.
• No prior experience required, but internships or academic projects in structural or related engineering are a plus.
• Strong interest in structural engineering and a desire to learn about building design and inspection.
• Willingness to enjoy fieldwork and engage with clients.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical abilities.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
• Willingness to climb ladders, access roofs, and work in crawl spaces and attics.
• Must have strong writing skills for preparing reports and documentation.
• A genuine fascination with buildings, construction, and engineering practices.
• Desire to work in a high-performance, technical team environment.
