Full Job Description

Neue Galerie New York is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized part time Finance Associate. The role will initially focus on accounts payables; ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, vendor payments, and maintaining strong relationships with vendors.  The role may grow to include additional finance responsibilities. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and verify invoices, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and process payments to vendors via check, ACH, or wire transfers.
  • Maintain and update accounts payable records, including vendor information and payment schedules.
  • Reconcile accounts payable and American Express transactions and assist in month-end closing processes.
  • Respond to vendor inquiries regarding payment status, discrepancies, and issues.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations (e.g., 1099 reporting).
  • Assist with internal and external audits as needed.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve billing and payment issues.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred or 1-3 years of experience in accounts payable or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and basic bookkeeping.
  • Experience with Fund EZ a plus, or other accounting software (Quickbooks, Sage, etc).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel;
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

Job Type: 20-25 hours per week; Hybrid or Remote

Compensation: $21/hour
