Kennedy International School provides a bilingual, well-rounded education for its students from nursery through 12th grade. Through our individualized approach to instruction, thanks to our small student-teacher ratio, students are encouraged to leverage their personal strengths and passions as they develop their language and academic knowledge.

We aim to offer a comprehensive and competitive afterschool program every day from 3:30pm-6:00pm for lower school students (preschool – 5th grade) when the school is in session as well as “Mini-Camps” during our breaks (3 weeks in total) and a Summer Camp in July (4 weeks in total).

This is a part-time non-exempt role working Monday – Friday from 1:30 – 6:30pm, totaling 25 hours per week. This role reports into the Head of School.

This role has an immediate start date and working till July 17th, 2026, for the 2025-2026 school year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The Afterschool Program & Camp Coordinator ensures the overall management and operations of Kennedy International School’s afterschool program: aftercare, enrichment activities, and study hall.
  • The Afterschool Program & Camp Coordinator is responsible for planning, staffing, advertising, and overseeing the “Mini-Camps” during school breaks and the Summer Camp.
  • The Afterschool Program & Camp Coordinator also oversees the Lunch & Recess Monitoring team during the work hours.

Essential Functions:

  • Oversee the operations of all afterschool activities and events, including “mini-camps” and summer camps.
  • Oversee program staff, program operations, services, and the implementation of programs and/or processes (e.g., site rules, discipline, site schedule, space requirements, etc.) to provide services within established timeframes and in compliance with related requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal and external personnel (e.g., administrators, instructors, facility manager, public agencies, community members, etc.) to implement and/or maintain services and programs.
  • Lead and execute marketing and communication efforts related to afterschool programs, “mini-camps” and summer camps.
  • Maintain electronic records to document activities, provide written reference and meet mandated requirements.
  • Plan and participate in organized meetings and workshops (e.g., staff trainings, parent meetings, etc.) to identify issues, gain knowledge, provide information and/or support site staff.
  • Prepare a variety of documents and reports (e.g., attendance, budget, daily activity, daily program content, etc.) to provide written support and/or convey information.
  • Respond to inquiries of staff, parents, and program participants to provide information and/or direction as may be required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Previous experience leading afterschool program or related position
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

Benefits

The pay rate for this position is $40.00 per hour. At 25 hours per week, this role is eligible for benefits including medical insurance (80% covered by employer), dental, vision, Flexible Savings Account (FSA), and 401K retirement plan.
