Full Job Description

This role involves performing electrical installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting within a highly regulated pharmaceutical or biotech environment. The position requires a skilled and experienced electrician to ensure compliance with GMP standards and maintain operational efficiency of critical systems and equipment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures in compliance with safety regulations and company standards.
  • Perform troubleshooting and diagnostics on electrical systems to identify and resolve issues effectively.
  • Work on facility systems, including lighting, power distribution, and emergency systems.
  • Provide support for specialized pharmaceutical equipment, such as bioreactors, cleanroom systems, and laboratory instruments.
  • Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to ensure seamless operation of electrical systems in production and laboratory areas.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation to perform installations and repairs.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure system reliability.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and system upgrades.
  • Ensure all electrical work complies with GMP, FDA, and OSHA regulations.
  • Respond promptly to electrical emergencies to minimize disruptions to operations.
  • Participate in validation and qualification processes for new equipment and system upgrades.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in electrical systems is preferred.
  • Licensed electrician with 3–5 years of experience in a pharmaceutical or biotech environment.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical codes, safety standards, and GMP compliance requirements.
  • Experience with electrical systems supporting cleanrooms, process equipment, and HVAC systems.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and electrical equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

Working Conditions:

  • Physical activity, including standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds, may be required.
  • Work in environments with temperature variations, cleanrooms, and exposure to chemicals, adhering to safety protocols.
  • May require flexible hours, including nights and weekends, based on operational needs.
