Job Title: Walter Machine Operator (Carbide Cutting Tools)

What You’ll Do:
- Operate and set up Walter CNC grinding machines to manufacture high-precision carbide cutting tools.
- Program and adjust machine parameters for optimal tool production.
- Inspect tools using shadowgraph and other precision measurement instruments (e.g., micrometers) to ensure exacting tolerances and quality.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine tool specifications.
- Collaborate with engineers and quality control teams to ensure products meet stringent quality standards.
- Follow ISO procedures and workplace safety protocols to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
- Perform routine maintenance on Walter machines and ensure they are operating at peak efficiency.
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience operating Walter CNC machines, particularly in the production of carbide cutting tools (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of tool grinding, tool geometry, and machine setup.
- Familiarity with shadowgraph and precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and geometric dimensions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail in all aspects of the machining process.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
- Basic math and geometry skills are essential.
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with additional CNC machines such as ANCA, Dedtru, EZsurf is a plus.
- Familiarity with machine programming (G-code and CNC programming).
- Experience with quality control and tool inspection processes.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with machinery noise and varying temperatures.
