Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Staff Accountant to join our growing team at Coretek. This position is ideal for someone currently in public accounting seeking more flexibility and work-life balance or for an individual in private accounting looking for an exciting opportunity in a high-growth tech company. In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of accounting activities related to the maintenance of a complete and accurate general ledger and the resultant managerial reports and financial statements. Your attention to detail will be essential in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Day-to-day accounting functions and maintaining the general ledger.
- Monthly reconciliations and journal entry creation for assigned general ledger accounts, ensuring proper account and line of business classifications
- Create billing and revenue recognition schedules following company policies and guidelines, focused on Managed Services recurring revenue and Microsoft reseller consumption and licenses
- Own the coordination and filing of sales and use tax in various states using the third-party tool, Avalara.
- Assist with the annual budget and quarterly forecasts.
- Serve as a point of contact for internal and external audits by responding to inquiries and gathering data.
- Work with the security team to perform control activities to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with internal control standards.
- Act as a backup to other accounting staff within the department.
- Assist with miscellaneous accounting procedures and reconciliations as they arise.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of proven experience in relevant accounting or finance roles.
- Proficiency in using accounting software and tools, including Salesforce, PSA (Professional Services Automation), Billing Central, Excel, Microsoft Word, and Power BI.
- Strong understanding of revenue recognition principles and accounting standards.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with internal teams, external auditors, and vendors.

Work Environment: This position will be located in-office at our headquarters in Farmington Hills, MI.
