Mobile Diesel Mechanic

Beltway Companies has an immediate opening for a Mobile Diesel Mechanic to work in the Baltimore area. is As the largest commercial truck dealership in the state of Maryland, our Idealease division provides an alternative to commercial truck ownership with comprehensive full-service leases, rental trucks, dedicated maintenance, and mobile service options. With state-of-the-art facilities and diagnostic equipment, our Idealease of Baltimore location serves Baltimore and its surrounding areas where necessary. Our Mobile Diesel Mechanic's are vital members of our team and are charged with preventative maintenance and minor repairs of our customers' vehicles at their location.

POSITION OVERVIEW

• Perform scheduled PMs and minor repairs identified during inspections.
• Complete DVIR write-ups (vehicle inspections) and address emergency breakdowns.
• Make repairs to medium/heavy-duty trucks efficiently; must have own tools.
• Collaborate with the service desk to discuss vehicle issues and repair needs.
• Conduct routine maintenance (oil changes, battery replacements, lubrication).
• Test-drive vehicles to diagnose issues and ensure proper function.
• Stay current on warranty policies, vendor guidelines, and complete work orders accurately.

Requirements

Qualified candidates will have their own hand tools and relevant training and/or experience, preferably with medium and/or heavy-duty trucks. Must be self-motivated, team player ready to hit the ground running.

GENERAL WORK QUALITIES REQUIRED

• Valid driver’s license
• High school degree or equivalent
• 1 or more years related experience required
• Mechanical knowledge of diesel and gasoline-powered vehicles
• Working knowledge of computers and maintenance applications

• The wage range for this role takes into account a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill sets, experience, training, and certifications. A reasonable estimate of the current range would be $20 to $45 per hour
