This is an exciting role where the Sensory Lab Technician will have responsibility for supporting our clients sensory team in managing routine activities such as tasting; product management, preparation and serving; and support general lab operations.
This role requires working closely with the MMR sensory team on site and the client’s internal sensory scientists. This position is Full Time will be based at the client’s sensory facility in Hoffman Estates, IL.
Sensory Lab Technician- full Time- responsibilities
Working on site on non Descriptive Analysis activities
Prepare ingredients, packaging, equipment, and product for routine consumer and/or sensory tests under
direct supervision
Record incoming products, label products, and place samples in appropriate storage locations.
Serve taste panels ensuring tests are conducted error free
Label sample cups and prepare serving supplies for panel testing
Inform supervisor of personnel, facility, and supply needs to accomplish projects and perform essential
duties
Operate necessary equipment as required in assigned projects
Maintain a clean work environment including assigned product/equipment storage areas.
Maintain training, project, laboratory, and experimental records
Comply with appropriate SOPs and methods, and established policies and procedures
Work as a team with all staff to accomplish position and business objectives
Interface effectively with clients, consumers, consultants, service providers, and temporary workers
Ensure that all safety guidelines and procedures are followed as safety of our employees is a primary
responsibility
Other tasks as assigned which may include cleaning product/equipment storage areas, shopping,
packaging and shipping products to other testing sites
Actively apply new protocols and/or tools to collect and analyze sensory and consumer data
Support department knowledge management and continuous improvement initiatives as assigned
Requirements
· BS in scientific field - Sensory, Food Science, or related field a plus
· Ability to work independently
· Self-management
· IT competency (experience in Compusense would be beneficial). Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
