Full Job Description
MATTER’s mission is to accelerate the pace of change of healthcare.
We believe that collaboration between entrepreneurs and industry leaders is the fastest, most effective way to accelerate innovation, advance care and improve lives. MATTER is organized as a not-for-profit company and was built to be a neutral platform where entrepreneurs can come together with industry leaders, scientists and clinicians from across the globe to collaborate on developing next-generation healthcare and life sciences solutions.
Commitment to Diversity
MATTER welcomes and actively encourages individuals of diverse ethnic and racial backgrounds to apply for this position. We are committed to building and sustaining an inclusive and equitable working environment for our team and our community.
About the Role
MATTER is looking for a dynamic leader to join our partnerships team — someone who is passionate about the opportunity for new technologies to improve health and healthcare, and who loves to develop strong relationships with clients. As a director, you will be responsible for account management, program execution and delivery, and the identification of new business opportunities within existing clients. You will be an independent “doer” as well as a strategist — someone who is able to drive priorities and initiatives with limited resources.
The person in this role will:
- Serve as lead contact for all activities within a subset of our key clients.
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships.
- Act as a business development leader, developing strategic collaborations to drive revenue growth within assigned accounts.
- Ensure the timely and successful delivery of solutions.
- Coach and support members of the Partnerships team.
A significant component of this role involves managing all aspects of Paratus, the BARDA Accelerator Network’s hub for digital health, which is a part of MATTER. This ongoing engagement includes facilitation of startup accelerators and funding startups to validate key assumptions.
Our Values
We recruit people to join our team who are passionate about our mission and embrace our core values:
- Never stop experimenting (try. assess. learn. iterate. repeat.)
- Be the host (be warm, welcoming and gracious)
- Turn over rocks (stay perpetually curious and you’ll find treasures where you least expect them)
- Make others successful (by helping others, you help yourself)
- Speak your mind (be authentic and straightforward in your thoughts, words and deeds)
