Our B2C marketplace simplifies booking a scan, making it as straightforward for patients as booking a hotel. Our B2B platforms provide live scheduling at the point of care and harness AI to ease workflows for physicians, attorneys, and providers.
The Interface Developer is responsible for establishing interface connectivity as well as the technical development of interfaces. This role is focused on the internal technical implementation of interfaces.
WHAT YOU WILL BE GETTING INVOLVED IN:
At Scan.com, we're on a mission to simplify and accelerate access to diagnostic imaging for patients and clinicians. As a Medical Appointment Scheduler, you'll play a crucial role in achieving this goal by scheduling patients for diagnostic imaging and ensuring a seamless patient experience. You’ll also be involved in day-to-day administrative tasks such as updating patient schedules, answering emails and liaising with imaging centers.
We're seeking a resourceful, proactive, and entrepreneurial individual who shares our passion for revolutionizing the diagnostic imaging industry. The ideal candidate will have experience managing a high volume of outbound calls, multitasking and navigating various systems, and providing best in class customer service.
As an early stages business, you can expect your role to develop over time. However, some of the types of things you could be getting involved in are:
- Establishing interface connectivity via methods such as APIs, VPNs, SFTP, or web services for new interfaces
- Transforming messages using various standards and formats, including but not limited to DICOM, HL7, FHIR, JSON, HTML, and XML
- Completing all database changes need to support new interface builds including inserts, updates, and deletions of tables and records
- Building both uni-directional and bi-directional interfaces for various clinical workflows, including but not limited to report distribution, order status updates, appointment scheduling, demographic updates, insurance (i.e., eligibility, authorization, etc…), and querying
- Working with team members to define interface requirements and appropriate mappings as well as for QA handoff
- Assisting with interface design and architecture as needed
- Participating in project management such as updating projects and providing project status updates
- Performing appropriate unit testing on all interface builds
- Responsible for ensuring best practices are implemented across all solutions
- Promptly reporting all escalated issues to the Head of Integration
- Proactively and regularly communicates progress and roadblocks to the Head of Integration
WHAT YOU MIGHT BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Experience with healthcare IT specific applications including EHR, EMR, RIS, LIS, RIS, and PACS
- Strong knowledge of and experience with implementing healthcare IT specific standards including but not limited to HL7, FHIR, SNOMED, LOINC, DICOM etc…
- Knowledge of and experience with building various interface connectivity methods, including VPNs, SFTP, APIs, and web services
- Knowledge of and experience with interoperability engines such as Rhapsody, Corepoint, Cloverleaf, or Iguana. Rhapsody experience required. Rhapsody certification preferred
- Experience designing and implementing healthcare IT interface workflows including uni-directional and bi-directional interfacing as well as PACS interfaces
- Knowledge of and experience with SQL and relational databases
- AWS experience, specifically with VPC and EC2, is preferred
- Strong documentation skills, including documenting workflow diagrams, architecture diagrams, and interface designs
- Superb written and verbal communication skills
HOW WE WILL INTERVIEW YOU:
We try to keep our interview process short and as a small business we can move through the stages quickly. Due to availability there may be a change to the order of the interview process, but generally speaking this is what you can expect:
- Introductory call/interview with Devin, our Talent Lead. The call is usually via telephone and will last around 30 minutes.
- Should it feel like there is an initial fit for all, we will invite you to a video call with the hiring manager for around 45 minutes. This is a more structured interview that will deep-dive into the role and technical needs.
- All of our roles will have a small assessment stage. This might be in person, a take-home assessment, or further video calls. Length varies, but we’re mindful of your time and try to keep it as simple as possible.
- Meet the founders and/or other team members. Again, length varies depending on how many people and whether in person or via video call.
