Position Overview

Cornerstone Learning Community is seeking a motivated and dedicated Assistant Director to work closely with the Director of the school to support the overall management and operations of our school. The Assistant Director will work closely with the Director to ensure the delivery of high-quality education, the well-being of students, and the efficient functioning of the school. This role combines leadership, administration, and strategic planning to enhance the school's mission and goals.

Key Responsibilities 

The following is a subset from the internal job description and it is not inclusive of all the responsibilities.

The Assistant Director will oversee and facilitate a range of projects and initiatives, including but not limited to: 

  • Assist the Director in overseeing daily school operations.
  • Supervise and support staff, including teachers and administrative personnel.
  • Serve as a role model and provide guidance to foster a positive school culture.
  • Promote the academic and social development of students.
  • Address student concerns and implement appropriate interventions.
  • Collaborate with parents and guardians to address student needs.
  • Assist in developing and implementing school policies and procedures.
  • Oversee scheduling, enrollment, and record-keeping processes.
  • Monitor budgets and manage resources effectively.
  • Support curriculum planning and program development.
  • Evaluate and improve educational standards and initiatives.
  • Organize extracurricular activities and events.
  • Ensure the school complies with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Promote a safe and inclusive environment for all students and staff.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in teaching, educational leadership or administration.
  • Familiarity with education standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Experience in International Baccalaureate.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, project management and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to manage teams and solve problems effectively.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of student behavior management strategies.
  • Familiarity with school accreditation processes.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must have the ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Repetitive bending, stretching, walking and stooping.
  • Have mobility required to ensure the safety of children.
  • Work with children on the floor.
  • Work outdoors in a variety of weather.
  • Have visual and hearing capabilities that allow constant supervision of children.
