We are looking for a Facilities Maintenance Specialist to join our team and help maintain the physical integrity of our building and systems. This role is vital to ensuring the continuous operation of our facilities, and we seek a detail-oriented and proactive professional to help keep everything running smoothly.  In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the day-to-day operations of our facility. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure all systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.) function optimally. In addition, you will coordinate with external vendors for complex repairs or specialized services. This position requires a hands-on approach, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple maintenance tasks simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine inspections of facility systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, and elevators, identifying issues before they escalate.
  • Conduct regular preventive maintenance tasks such as cleaning HVAC filters, lubricating equipment, and inspecting fire alarms and other safety systems.
  • Respond promptly to service requests for repairs, including addressing plumbing issues, electrical failures, and system malfunctions.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and structural problems and provide timely solutions or repairs.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to building safety, fire codes, environmental standards, and workplace safety.
  • Coordinate and manage external vendors and contractors for specialized services or repairs that cannot be handled in-house, including scheduling and overseeing the work being done.
  • Maintain inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment; order parts and materials as needed for ongoing maintenance.
  • Ensure the facility is clean, safe, and well-maintained, including common areas, restrooms, and exterior grounds.
  • Document all maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and incidents, for compliance and reporting purposes.
  • Act as the primary point of contact when external vendors are required for repairs, ensuring clear communication and quality control.
  • Other professional duties as assigned.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in facilities management or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in facilities maintenance or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to perform repairs and troubleshooting on various systems, including minor electrical and plumbing work.
  • Experience coordinating and managing vendor relationships for specialized repair services.
  • Understanding of building safety codes, OSHA regulations, and environmental health standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to preventing issues.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with team members and external contractors.
  • Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, standing, and operating tools.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (if travel to multiple sites is required).

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with building management systems (BMS) or computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Certifications in HVAC, electrical, or plumbing maintenance.
  • Experience with facility management software or asset tracking systems.

Pay Transparency
This job posting may cover multiple career levels. To ensure greater transparency, we provide base salary ranges for all roles, regardless of location. Our standard pay ranges are based on the role’s function and level, benchmarked against similar growth-stage companies. Compensation may vary based on geographical location, as certain regions may have different cost-of-living factors. The final offer will also be influenced by the candidate's skills, responsibilities, and relevant experience.

Compensation Range

The Compensation Range for this role is $70,000 - $85,000.
