Summary Description:
Syntiant Corp., a leader in the high-growth AI software and semiconductor solutions space, has recently acquired a large, multi-national sensor business with global revenues in excess of $250 million per year, and is looking for an experienced and talented Consolidations Manager to take our consolidations and reporting function to the next level.The Corporate Controller will be responsible for all accounting operations and will be responsible for timely and accurate reporting, compliance with accounting policies and controls, and adherence to GAAP standards. This position will deliver rigorous financial oversight, transparency, and leverage of advanced technologies to drive best in class financial reporting, decision-support, and operational excellence.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning, direction, and coordination of all accounting and reporting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, equity accounting, and worldwide consolidation
- Establish and maintain effective internal controls over financial reporting and monitor and evaluate their performance and effectiveness.
- Responsible for the month-end closing process, including account/variance analysis and reconciliation
- Provide oversight with all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements
- Maintain governance over global accounting policies and lead efforts in application of technical accounting guidance, including participating in the drafting and/or review of technical accounting positions and policy memos
- Leverage digital tools to improve the cost and efficiency of accounting and reporting processes, and that enable the business to scale effectively.
- Partner with the FP&A team on the annual budget, monthly forecast, various expense analytics and other internal reporting activities.
- Coordinate the annual financial statement audits with external auditors, both domestic and international.
- Participate in the development and maintenance of internal control documentation.
- Own resolution of accounting questions/issues including adoption of new accounting standards as necessary
- Develop a culture of continuous improvement in the accounting function and support the culture domestically and internationally, providing assistance and direction as required to improve effectiveness and overall performance.
- Stay current on emerging accounting issues and pronouncements and advise management of impact to the company.
- Provide CFO and leadership with an ongoing assessment of major accounting or financial risks and opportunities that impact the achievement of the annual financial targets.
- Lead, retain, mentor and develop a high performing accounting team and support their growth and professional development, fostering a culture of excellence, integrity, and accountability.
- Develop and maintain close working relationships with business units and department heads (HR, IT, Legal, etc.).
Requirements
- BS/BA degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA, MBA and/or Big 4 experience a plus.
- At least 12 years of work experience in the corporate finance/accounting function of a global manufacturing company, specifically with operations in Asian markets.
- Strong knowledge and expertise in US GAAP and SEC reporting.
- IPO readiness or public company experience.
- Experience with Oracle or an equivalent large enterprise resource planning system.
- Experience delivering both external financial reporting and internal management reporting.
- Exceptional communication and people skills, with ability to converse with leadership and all levels across the organization.
- Previous experience managing a team, working with other functional groups, and third parties.
- Experience working in matrix organizations with the capability to effectively work with and through field finance resources.
- Strong collaboration and teamwork skills with effective relationship building and influence.
- Strong process orientation; well-structured and well-organized.
- Strong project management, leadership, analytical and problem solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Solid financial and business acumen.
- Self-starter with strong work ethic and a passion for a fast-paced environment.

One element in our total compensation package is base pay. The starting base pay for this role is targeted to be between $190,000 and $240,000. Individual compensation decisions are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to previous experience and skills acquired prior to joining Syntiant, cost of living in the assigned work location, assigned schedule, and salaries of similarly situated peers at the company. It is to be expected that candidates will come to us with different sets of skills and experiences and therefore will be paid at different points in the stated range. We recognize that the person we select for hire may be less experienced or more experienced than the role as posted; if this is the case, any updates to available salary ranges will be communicated with candidates during the recruitment process.
