UAS - Shadow Maintenance Instructor

Individuals Serving as Platform Instructors (RQ7B Shadow Maintenance Training) are required to provide maintenance instructions in support of the US Army’s UAS Training Battalion located at Ft. Huachuca, AZ.

Responsibilities

• Utilize conference, demonstration, and practical exercises IAW respective Program-of-Instruction (POI0 to train personnel in aviation maintenance fundamentals, basic electronics, maintenance and operations.
• Test/re-test and grade students IAW Government provided procedures and form.
• Performs maintenance functions during instructions on Shadow 200 UAS equipment and all associated training devices.
• Sets up equipment required classroom and practical exercise instructions.
• Assists in the revision of and preparation of course of instruction materials based on subject matter knowledge and research to include lesson plans, course materials, workbook, handouts, course assessment forms, study guides and training aids.
• Maintains records of training activities, participant progress, and maintenance and flight information.
• Stays current with new training, education and multimedia technologies.
• Maintains current knowledge of equipment and software utilization by our customer to provide training.
• Participates in special projects within the scope of the Performance Work Statement (PWS) as required.
• May be required to maintain/instruct any of the customer’s UAS platforms, based on customer’s training throughput.

Requirements

Basic Requirements

• Minimum 4 years’ experience maintaining the Shadow 200 UAS (documented).
• RQ-7B Shadow 200 Course 15E graduate.
• Experience in the US Army aviation maintenance or other DoD agency aviation maintenance.
• Strong Interpersonal, coaching and team building skills
• Excellent Written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to ascend and descend stairs, stand for an extended period up to at least 50 minutes and walk at least 100 meters across uneven or unpaved surfaces.
• Must be able to lift to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to work shift work when required to support customer needs.
• Must be a US Citizen.
• Current active US secret Clearance.

Preferred Requirements

• RQ7B v2 Maintenance Instructor certified and qualified to teach in all annexes including Basic Electronics Training
• Proponent certified to instruct RQ7B v2 maintenance
• Dual qualifications (MQ-1C Gray Eagle and RQ7B platforms) as a Maintenance Instructor
• Graduate of the Army Contractor Faculty Development Program-Instructor Course (CFDP-IC) or Department of Army equivalent
• Prior Military or contract license for Government/military vehicles and equipment.
• Familiarity with ISO-certified Quality Management System.
• Prior experience as RQ7B Shadow UAS Crew Chief Unit Trainer/Instructor or Technical Inspector.

Education Requirement

• High school graduate orthe equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, or work/military experience.
